Help! yr2000 w202 c200 bas/esp light on!

Hi Guys,
The bas/esp light on my year 2000 w202 c200 is constantly on. I have changed the brake light switch (twice) with no luck. Also the switch on the dashboard that has the towing indicator ( the hook) always shows red (or on) and will not go off when I try to turn it off. Will be very grateful if someone could shed any light on this. Thanks in advance.

The "hook" is to turn off the tow away part of the alarm system, the abs light on sounds like a rpm sensor is faulty!

Check the rolling chassis: I.e Is everything mechanically correct downunder? If not then it would definitely throw a wobbly!
