I have a w210 e320 cdi on a 51 plate . what mode are you supposed to drive in ? I was told to keep it in w mode as s mode uses more fuel ? So what is it ? W or S ? Also how long do the timing chains last as i do about 1000 miles a week commute . Also how long do the headlamps last as mine has the funny xenon ones and they dont seem to be as bright as they once was . The inner smaller headlamps look a different colour as well more yellowy where the large headlamps are more clear and sparkly .Why is this anyone ?

W or S , winter makes the gearbox move off in 2nd gear to help traction , i rarely if ever select W on my car i really cant see it helping economy very much

As for your smaller inner lamps, they are probably Halogens which look yellow compared to Xenons which are clear and sparkly. :D
