hi all, av a 2000 e320 petrol and it will not start as i was coming out off the garden to go to work this morning it just died on me, ad a prob the other day wen car was sitting in garden it would not start tryed locking and unlocking the car but it still would not start, left the the car for about an hour and it started, av left the car car allday and replaced the batteries in the key fob and it still will not start, if anybody as any idears then i would be very gratefull , thanks daren

If the engine is cranking but not firing then it could be crankshaft sensor, if its not cranking,could be starter or problem at sam unit - his can be tested by probing in at front sam.Like malcolm says more info please

hi malc, yeah car turns over but just will not start, wot do you think it is cheers daren

As 5pares this should just be the crankshaft sensor £47 from any Bosch center 5 in the link

hi all, just ad the aa round and he checked if there was a spark and there wasnt , he say it could be the imobaliser, he tried 2 reset it by leaving the ignition on for 15 mins but still will not start, anymore sugestions would be helpfull thanks daren

If the crankshaft sensor has failed it will not spark as it doesnt know when to.
