Hi all, awaiting imminent delivery of 2018 C class 350e excited! A few questions?

The car is being serviced at the BM
Dealer prior to delivery, they have advised the sat nav maps will be updated as a matter of course? I am Sceptical. What is the current version of maps the car? It had command on line if that’s relevant. I understand updating the live traffic is another task, again how do I know if that’s up to date? Appreciate any help.
I will no doubt be back once I manage to plug in at home to ask those who know the best drinking hybrid driving technique to maximise the modest range. Fortunately my routine journeys are sub 15 mile round trips plus the longer holiday and days out.

Map updates are free for the first three years and are supposed to be done at the annual service. Some have reported problems but Mercedes Southampton have done my first two without being asked although I will make sure I get the latest update later this month when it has its third service.

Thank you, so for 3 years from new, my car is coming up on 4 years, so my query is does the post 3 year old dealer service continue to update the day nav? Would go a little way to ease the pain of main dealer ££££ if anyone had experience to share on this it’s appreciated

After three years, the dealer will only do it on request and will charge you the going rate. If you are buying from a Mercedes dealer, you might be able to negotiate a free update as part of the deal. You might try to argue that it should have been done before but their argument might be that the previous owner didn’t ask for it to be done so it’s not their responsibility.
