I have just acquired an an E280 CDI Sport Auto Estate 2006 reg and I love it, but try as I might I still cannot work out how to re-set the ***~~ ! clock ! Any advice would be appreciated.

it may depend on wether it is a ‘Comand‘ or ‘Audio’ system.
does yours have sat nav built in to the screen?

Yes it does but I have been having difficulty trying to locate the Comand operators manual.

The clock is controlled by the RDS radio signal, it won’t however change from winter to summer time automatically…

S211 is the model number for these particular cars.. you may find that the date, year is also greyed out due to something way beyond my comprehension.

My 57 plate W211 E320 CDi was always a minute slow and I never found a way to fix that. It did however change the time automatically when the clocks went back/forward. My 62 plate C207 E350 CDi was similarly always a minute slow and I could never fix that either. It didn't change automatically when the clocks went back/forward????

Luckily my latest 65 plate C218 CLS 350d has the correct time, but I've not owned it long enough to see if the clock auto resets for Summer/Winter time changes.

Superb choice of car Sir
The clock in mine automatically resets to the correct time after the battery has been reconnected after the key is turned to ignition.
Saw it do this after I changed the torque converter.

Mine is a W210 (one before yours) a 2003 and still going strong. The Sat Nav is ancient and is driven by a series of CD`s for each Country. You can get one though for the "Main Roads of Western Europe."
Mine still gets me to and From Spain.

As I said in my intro after 23 years driving sensible cars with a passion for fishing I have finally got the car of my dreams.
Trouble is this car is obstinately programmed for its previous driver. Every time I get in it repositions the seat and steering wheel for someone else. I also noticed that when I put the back seats down the front seats automatically moved forward. At 15st 3lb this was a problem.

If any member within the TN61DZ area has a similar vehicle I will happily buy lunch/dinner for a good educational on my new car.

Does the car have memory seats then ? If so all you have to do is adjust the seat to a position that suits you from the 1 position and then press 'M'
