We've been to Portugal a few times - usually as part pf a 2-week cruise (it's what we do now at our age!) with a full day stopover etc. I've always been struck by how genuinely pleasant the people are and it seems they're one of the few European nations that (similar to the Dutch) actually seem to like us.
