I think you guys are getting confused between county and country.
After he'd practised on the rest of the world he took the best bits of his work and copied them into NZ. The wrinkly bits of Norway went into the South west corner, the mountain ranges of the Himalayas miniaturised and put into the Southern Alps, the geothermal of Yellowstone recreated near Rotorua, the volcano or Mount Fuji recreated as Mount Ngaruahoe, the archipelago of Sweden recreated as the Bay of Islands. The list goes on. The only thing he got wrong was putting it next to Australia!
