Not many can reccomend an adblue car, badly thought out system that is almost certain to cost you a considerable amount of money.

I'm probably going to regrat saying this but here goes. I run an Adblue car and mostly do short journeys. Never had a problem with it! Only thing I do that concerns Adblue is to make sure that if it starts trying to do a "regen" (which is obvious if you know your car), I take it for a 15 minute drive until the regen is complete.
I know if the Adblue system goes wrong it will be an expensive fix, but so are most things on a Mercedes

Many don't have problems with Ad blu (see above!), but it is a fact that, also, many do.....

if you are buying from an MB dealer it will be under a one year warranty which I think you can extend - would that not cover any adblue issues?

we had a GLC 250 from new for 4 years that had adblue - no worries at all - replaced it with wife's current X5 which has adblue and that has been fine so far (famous last words)...

I only do 3 or 4K a year and that is one of the reasons I sold my 2016 CLS Shooting Brake. A fantastic car, based on the E Class. It was at the time when dealers were offering crazy money for used cars and I basically had almost three years of free motoring after selling.
One of the reasons I decided to let the car go was all the additional stuff bolted on by the manufacturer to meet the emissions including Ad Blue. There was nothing wrong with mine and I was using all the anti crystallising fluids and doing all I could to keep the car happy but there was always a little niggle in the back of my mind.

I'm sure some drivers go about their lives without worrying about these things and never get a problem, but conversely there are many that do.
Of course, we usually only hear about the negatives on forums but there do seem to be lots of horror stories
My solution was to buy an old car, safe in the knowledge that things would wear out and I would need to replace them, but I bought with that in mind and with a reserve fund, and happy that there is an abundance of perfectly functional used parts around. On your projected miles I’d be tempted to go for petrol.
