main thing to note is where do you plan to drive it? if anywhere near a ULEZ zone then you'll be hit pretty hard in the wallet :(

Worth checking the rear subframe for corrosion

Hi thanks for the reply...I'm in Spain..so no problem with ULEZ. Not planing on putting putting lots of miles on it .Just a few of motorway trips

It's a UK import.. So will have a good look..It's been here a while..They hard to check with out been on a ramp?
Problem is they rust from the inside out :( you can look through the wheel to give an idea

Being a UK import has it been inspected and registered so it can stay in Spain?

Yes it's on Spanish plates now..They do have a good go over them on the inspection for the import paperwork. Cars here are very expensive..The RHD imports are far cheaper..

Quite a few ex-pats get caught out with their cars as they can only keep them for so long before they need registering. Sounds like a decent option

Thanks for your time...I have test drive tomorrow.....it's a Third of the price compared to Spanish same age and spec ..cheers

The car was in good condition full service history and a list of bills..Owner putting a new test cert on it and I'll take it....I checked all the issues you mentioned and they seem fine.....It's been in the dealers recently and was fully checked over...Thanks for your help..

Definately check for oil leaks esp. around the oil cooler, sump, and oil switch over valve (my experience and apparently common with the OM651 engines). Ideally take a look underneath with the plastic undercar shields removed as a drip can take a while to actually show up on the driveway.

EGR gaskets can also leak - mine were replaced as part of the oil leak repairs which was an engine out job.

Also check the water temps b/w the 70-100 range when hot - water pumps need replacing around the 100,000 klm mark....also replaced at the time of the engine out job.

Looks nice in Tenorite Grey!

The car was at the dealers getting the oil cooler changed a couple months back .so I guess those issues have been taken care of..I'll keep an eye on the other seals.. water pump was taken care of as well as far as I no.....Thanks for your reply
