Not trying to be funny but if your battery is totally dead then how do you intend starting the car to drive it ? If you can drive it then the battery is going to get charged while it is being driven ... regardless of anything else, if your battery is 100% totally dead then I'd suggest just buyoing a new battery and be done with it.

Perhaps I am miss understanding your problem?

Yes it can, but it will try and charge the battery using the petrol engine as soon as its started.

If it is your car - you should know.

If you want to nick a e car and think the e battery is dead - do one .
