Welcome, 2004 will be the 171 & I think they were galvanised. We had a 2004 200K did 90K miles nothing went wrong.

Agree with above comments, they are a super car, drive and forget, if a little boring......nothing going wrong, no expensive repair Bill's, you could have bought my Money Pit, certainly not boring and a definite wallet emptier

If you mean by “a little boring“ that they don’t “boing“ at you all the time to let you know somethings gone wrong or that they don’t leak like a sieve, then I’d agree with you…Hello and welcome

Oh no, looks like we bought the wrong SLK, ours leaks like the SL, left hand door mirror, boot and roof just behind the drivers seat......I guess it is the 18inch wheels and rock hard suspension that takes its toll on the SLK after a while
