Hello

I've recently bought a 98R C250 TD auto that is soon to have covered over 200,000 miles. It was fully main dealer serviced for the first 150,000 miles and subsequently seviced by a local specialist.

Realising that compared to many on this post that is barely run in, what work can I expect it to require. Also at what sort of distance can I expect before it needs major attention.

Thanks for your time

The main thing to do with a high mileage car is to change the oil and filters with good quality oil .On a diesel change oil every 5000mls. This will help to extend the life of the engine.Hope this helps.

RE 190SURGEN.... You do what you like with your own car . I was only giving good advice to the person who entered this post. Why reply when you know everything. If you are lonely here is a friend for you.

I would do 6000 mile oil changes - it really is the way to extend vehicle life.

What mpg do you get out of the vehicle, isit true that the mpg improves with mileage up to a certain point.

I'm getting no worse than 38 and I've seen 45 mpg. I'm very happy with that as the BMW Compact TeDiouS I had previously struggled to achieve 43 and I'm in a car that's quicker, larger, more comfortable and an automatic. My journeys are 50% motorway, 50% cross country.

I'm pleased to note from the posts to this question that at 200,000 miles nothing is going to immiently fall off or need replacing.

Just drive it and enjoy it .When something goes wrong fix it and drive away. If you worry all the time what might go wrong you will not enjoy the car Good luck.
