http://www.rxauto.com/index.htm

I would liken it to using a product like 'Radweld'..which is a 'get-you-home' TEMPORARY repair that will need doing PROPERLY at a later date. (preferably sooner rather than later)

not sure weather to try it as my 1974 280se has gunk in the oil, and started to get hot on long journeys, i just cant afford to replace the head gasket at the moment. should i give it a go? the company seems to be pretty confident in their product :)

I guess you have nothing to lose by trying it.......either it works or doesn't work!......but even if it does work i would only consider it a temporary repair.

what does the product cost?

ps....Just consider that by the time you have paid for the ...product, new oil and filter and new coolant you will have to buy these items AGAIN plus the cost of a head gasket set if the product fails to work.........it might be more economical to do a 'proper' repair in the first place.

Definately replace the head gasket!........This 'stuff' could only ever be a temporary repair.....too expensive for that.

i can just imagine the 'hoops' you would be made to jump through when you attempted to claim your refund!

doesnt sound too bad then.... p & p is $40 , i am bit sceptical about how a liquid can seal a head gasket or cracked block,

These things work on the principle that they remain liquid until they find a hole , and then set.

Years ago I had a hilman imp husky that used 3 eggs per 500 miles, the egg white stayed wet will in the water, but solidified when it found the leak.

I used a similar product bought on ebay for around £8 a bottle. My Range Rover 3.9efi V8 was using water and this stuff cured it. Look on ebay UK item no 200028933845

I think it's sodium silicate based with tiny copper particles.

One hint that I learned from the Range Rover forum. If the leak is only apparent when the engine is hot then you need to get it hot when you use this stuff. The first bottle I tried I did as the instructions said and left the engine idling for 20 minutes then flushed it...it didn't work. With second bottle (I'd bought 2) I left it in for a week and really hammered the Rangie in that time. Result - no coolant loss after 2 months.

At £8 a bottle it's worth a try.

Cheers,

Bob
