My hood wont work! Will take it to merc soon, but anyone know of easy checks before I spend a fortune with merc for them to replace a 10p bit!

Seems to work ok, but then just stops mid flow. Some times wont go down or up. Checked the switch in the boot (cover) seems fine, switch on dash lights up ok, but hood just stops . No funny noises or obvious wires hanging out etc? Anyone had this? Is it any easy/silly fix?

Could be your battery is weak, or you need to reset your windows after a power interuption. Does the switch light up or flash when pulling

mine had a similar problem.... i took the back seat covers off to reveal the pipes , pumps etc as advised by another user.... nothing appeared loose or anything on mine, so i made sure that all connections to the pipes were tight and there were no "leaks" then i put the seat back in and it has never failed since..

dunno what i did but it seemed to fix it.... maybe something did come loose - slightly; just enough to set off a sensor

If the battery is weak, running the engine during activation may not alter this fault (in SLs anyway)

Have you reset the windows

Just got the car back from merc. Small micro switch deep inside the rear seats had "frozen". Whole seat panel section needed to be removed! Micro switch £19, labour £275! ouch!
