Hi,
My car horn decided that it will not work any more. I found this out when a SUV tried to sideswipe me. After playing around with the horn I noticed that when I press the horn the little seatbelt light either lights up or flickers. I have a 1980 300D.

Any hints would be *greatly* appreciated!

Thanks!!

Hi,
The easy way to check is as follows:
The horn has only one or 2 wires connected to it.
If it has one wire it's a live wire with negative earth through the body of the horn.
If it as 2 wires, you have a + and a -.
Disconnect the wires and put a straight lead from the battery.
If the horn sounds, it's not the horn but the switch or the relay that are faulty. I also think that the circuit is fused. Worth checking the fuse as well

sounds very much like a bad earth...

but i'd check fuse 6 (horn) and whatever is for the seatbelt warning...
