Hi all
Anyone have a problem starting their diesel when hot? If the car has been running for 30 minuets or so and I turn it off, and then try to start it again say 10 minutes later it takes 2 to 3 start cycles to get it going. It's almost like vapour lock on a petrol engine. Any ideas anyone

yes grumpy you got a injector leaking by, i dont mean leaking out the nossel, on cranking the fuel rail needs a bar pressure of 250-300 bar, yes bar, what happens on the cdi, 210-211 models is when cranking instead of press building in the rail it gets sent stright into the spill rail on top of the injector which is faulty and sent back to the tank, easy way to test if it is injector is to remove engine covers, pull the 6 little spring clips of the injector heads, lift of T joints be careful if they are pastic they snap easy, clamp of spill pipe behine number 6 T piece and crank her over, any sign of derv leaking out top of injector well thats the one, shouldnt have no fuel out the top what so ever on crank, if she starts then yes you would have fuel coming out, if all six ok,find fuel rail follow to rear of rail, nearest bulkhead, there you have rail pressure sensor, 2 star bolts and carefully remove sometimes the tiny o ring spilt should be 2 of em. this is what tells ECU rail pressure, one off them spilt and lack of pressure, another thought is one of the plastic fuel lines could have air leak and when you swich off the fuel is running back to the tank, so when trying to start you are bleeding the system, last but least main pressure pump, rear but been known, hope you still awake
