Hi all, I've recently purchased a CLK430 Coupé (2000) which has a COMAND centre CDPlayer and Screen.

It does not have the TV function or SATNAV pack activated/installed. When I choose these options I am told "No TV" and "No SATNAV".

Has anyone had any experience in getting these integrated? Does extra hardware need to be purchased or is it just software thats needed?

Many thanks.:p

I cant answer about the navigation part, but to receive TV a TV tuner would have to be fitted at a cost of some £650

I thought all COMANDs have SatNav as standard?

Do you have the satnav disc inserted?

Is there not an aftermarket tv tuner that could be fitted? You can pick some more than useable ones up for under £40 that pick up freeview aswell, just requires fitting, i have no idea how these would integrate with command if at all.

It depends on the year of the car or Comand I believe that the wide screen after 2004 that can play DVD will accept any tuner, the earlier like the 2.0 and 2.5 need an interface (£100 ish on Ebay)

No, I didn't get any DVD/Cd's with it at all. So, is it my understanding that I need to purchase a seperate TV tuner for it? And if I want SATNAV, I'm gonna have to source a SATNAV disc from somewhere?

Yes, it won't work without a disc (Satnav). Buy from Merc dealer or try comandonline.co.uk.

Malcolm (television) is your guy for anything TV related :)

Hi

I am also trying to get TV activated on my Comand 2.0. What is the cheapest (not wanting to fork out £650) and easiest way of activating. I have a 2004 ML350. I would also like to add rear headrest screens in the future that can either use the tuner or play another device, ie dvd

Thanks

An interface and a cheap digi box, around £100, will post more later
