I think you just fire up the ignition, hold down the reset button for 5 secs and confirm you want to reset.
Someone who knows will advise soon

Hello,
Turn the ignition on and press the r button 3 times within one second. the remaning mileage will flash up, release button and turn off ignition. then press and hold the r button, turn ignition back on and keep holding button for 5-10 seconds, the counter will reset and flash 10000 to go again

Sounds like you are literally expecting it to flash - I think Ellsy just meant "appear" which it would seem to be doing if you are telling us its 100 over.

For a 202 the reset process is basically the same (page 1A.3 of the Haynes manual):

Key to position 2 (ignition on), immediately press 0 (trip reset) button twice within one second (mileage left appears)
Key back to position 1 (ignition off)
Press and hold the 0 button, turn key to 2, display shows remaining distance/time, hold the button for more than 10 seconds and a beep will sound, new distance/time will appear for 10 seconds.
Release button 0.

Essentially the same as Ellsy posted (although you get beep at the end of the 10 seconds).

On this subject, i have a similar problem with a "days exceeded service" indicator on a 320CLK (W208). I'm up to 238 days over!!!Have tried the 2 suggestions shown above but no luck. Anybody know how to re-set this?

thanks for the reply, bu i do not have the "interior" section of my handbook, which is where i guess this operation is described.
Is it a simple operation to remove this "days overdue" message
