DPF as far as i am concerned is an acronym for dreadful problematic filter.
I had no end of problems with mine, (over-fueling, diesel ingress into the engine oil, as much as 20% at one stage), before I finally instructed Mercedes-benz in "no uncertain terms" it had to be removed.
Best thing you can do for your diesel car as far as i'm concerned is get rid of this dreadful system.
Not sure if the newer urea based systems on the latest Bluetec diesel's work any better but i'd be reluctant to be the guniea pig.
