i have a disturbing clunk (changing down from 3rd to 2nd) from the sprintshift gearbox in my 316 so first call change the oil / transmission oil, is it easy?

Oil change is easy but you will have to replace it with the MB part numbered oil as it is the only one you can use on Sprinter/Vito Gearboxes.
The hydraulic oil is Pentosin and is drained from the rear bung. To refill, leave the bung out, pull of the rubber hose from the righthand side of the box, fill an oil can with pentosin oil and pump down the hose until it runs out of the drain hole.
You will probably find it is not the oil that is the problem though.
