Hi guys,

I used to own a C180 (128?) and when I got a new key I programed it on the car itself. I now have a CLK (W208) am I able to do the same with this key instead of paying a dealer £90!!!

Oooh if I can.... what is the proceedure / sequence?

Thanks

Hi,
If your key is the flip out blade type you may be able to, though when i bought mine from MB they said it was specific to my car and only needed synching to my car.
If you have the triangular type key with 2 or 3 buttons you might get it to operate the central locking but the immobiliser side of it is coded to your cars ECU this is not possible to do.
Do not be tempted to buy a 2nd hand key off of E-bay etc. as they can not be reprogrammed to work both aspects.
Some one else should be able to confirm this.
I think your key will be the latter one which will be closer to £150 with the key blade and VAT. Flip out key blade type is approx. £90-100
