Does anyone know how to find out how many W124 E36 AMG Estates were produced, and if so, how many are there in the uk
My wife owns a 1996 model

Not many!.....from memory there were only 10 or 11 W124 E36's that came into this country in RHD and I imagine that most were saloons, so its likely that yours is probably one of the only ones left.

Whats the story on yours...ie condition, mileage etc etc

According to Mercedes Enthusiast Magazine, there were 7 E36 estates officially imported to the UK.
There is quite a good write up on E36's including Coupe, Saloon, Cabriolet and Estate, April 05 issue, if you want to order it.

How many E36 AMG estates are there?

Thanks for the replies, Mjtray, Uppo.
The car has covered 172,000 miles, full service history, with the usual full specification you would expect being the AMG model.
She is silver in colour, with the usual stone chips , but generally quite good considering the mileage.
She was previously owned by our neighbour who had her for a short time, then by a doctor in the Swindon area.
Being my wifes car, I only get to drive her when mine is in for service, the effortlerss power is nice, and is reasonable on fuel too.
The magazine Uppo mentioned quoted as as saying there were only seven being imported, were they all AMG models? can I order the magazine from any newsagaent?
Thanks again for the interest

Bob,

I see that you live in Reading as do I......I'll have to keep my eyes out for your estate.

You can purchase Mercedes Enthusiast from Smiths in Reading...comes out second Friday of every month or if you are in the Caversham area you can get it from the Post Office in Emmer Green near the betting shop/Budgens.

Personally, I find that its easier just to subscribe and get it sent to you by post.

Re the magazine, if you buy a copy of Mercedes Enthusiast, I think it gives you an option of buying back issues, of which the one you want is April 05. I could relay a lot more info on these cars, ie: how many coupes, Saloons pricing and so on, but that will only spoil it for you when you get your back order. I would pass mine on, but it also has a good right up on the car I own, W124 E60 AMG, so I am afraid you will have to get you own, good luck

Terry.

W124 E36 AMG saloon
E36

Bob,
I have got a w124 E36 saloon in blue black that I have owned for 2.5 years now. It has got 118,000 miles on it and I use it daily. I have spent a few pounds on it but it is reliable and as with all w124's very comfortable.

Mine came from Jersey originally and has the AMG body kit fitted.
I have got an original price list for it and the estate was £47150 before extras in 1994.

From what i gather there are probably about 14 of each type of
E36 w124 in the UK hence why dull lives of owners like me get a boost when they find another .

I dont have any pictures of the E60 yet, I only got it back from Belgium about a week ago, but I can tell you it has covered only 68000kms from new, with full Mercedes+ AMG service history, in amazing condition, although I need to spend a little bit on it to make it "Mint" It has remus big bore Exhaust, K&N filters and some other tweeks which I am still trying to decipher. I would imagine, when this car left Afalterbach, it was pushing out around 400BHP, plus the fact it was Swiss supplied, therefore coming with shorter ratio diff, to comply (ha ha) with Swiss speed restrictions.
I will show some pictures of my previous car which was Identical, but in a different category to my present car condition wise.
Thanks for your interest,

Terry.

I have tried to attach a pic of my 1995 saloon. I don't think as many of the estate buyers went for the body styling as it was a hefty £4036.

I'm certainly interested in any of the high performing W124s: E36 AMG, 500E, E500, E60 AMG. After all, I drive a dull 230TE and I wouldn't mind dreaming a little....

Nothing wrong with the 230TE, I drive one of them as well, great for the kids, bikes, big boxes, fridges, wardrobes, etc etc, cant get nothing like that in the E60, kids included!!!

Isn't that one of the advantages of the E60 compared to the 230TE???

How many w124 E36 AMG Estates are there?

Thanks to all for their interest in my wifes car, in terms of numbers and variants produced in the w124 estates, this model appears to be quite rare in this country.
The fact that we came across it by accident, only two doors away from where we live, seems even more remarkable/lucky, call it what you will.
I have tried to put fotos on this thread but without success, send me your
e- mail address if you want any.
Bob.
