How many litres?

Hi all,
I had my automatic transmission fluid changed by my indie this afternoon. I bought six litres of Mercedes Benz oil which my indie used.

My indie drained about 7ltrs of oil.

My question is will 6ltrs be enough or do i have to add 1 more ltr?

The car was changing up and down nicely after the service.

The car is a C280 (1994)

What did your Indy say about it?
I presume he dipped the oil? If the level is correct leave it alone.
If he still has it and not topped it up yet, you will need at least another litre or two as i think the oil capacity of this gearbox will be somewhere in the region of 8.5 litres, do ensure that the gearbox gets a new filter and sump gasket and the torque converter gets drainned too.

Yeah he dipped the oil and said it was at the correct level.

I'm just bothered that 7ltrs came out whereby 6 went in.

I'll see how it drives in the next few days.

Hi,
Thats strange, it must of been overfilled, but drive it for a day or two and go back to him and ask him to dip the G/B oil again.
(I am assuming that your car has no G/B dipstick fitted).

Sway, where are you in South London? I have the correct dipping "tool", your welcome to pop around and check the fluids yourself.

Your car has the 722.4 box and it uses 6.6 liters from new, so your guy gas done it correct
