Does anyone know the wattage of the indicator lamp in the wing mirror on a ML 164 series?

Not sure about the ML, but most MB mirror indicators are a LED strip.

I believe these are a strip, I am trying to determine the wattage of the complete strip.

2014 639 Viano- 651, 5sp Auto. 2009 S211- 646, 5sp Auto.
I have one removed from my Viano behind me,
it is 4 LED's that illuminate, 2 through 2 reflective plastic runs across the front of the mirror, and also 2 out to the side.

At a constant 14 volts it runs at 133mA.

If that's any use for your purposes??

Thank you, exactly the information I am looking for!

My wing mirror LED's have corroded and the dash information light is on stating the bulb has gone, so if I put a resistor to replace the LED lights the dash lights will not come on....

So what I need to know is what size resistor do i need to replace 133mA?

There is no legal requirement for a particular wattage for side indicator bulbs so you are at liberty to put in anything.
https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1989/1796/schedule/7/made

Thank You for the reply, the MOT guy told me the exact same thing, what I am trying to do is, switch the dash information light off, which telling me the bulb has gone!
My thoughts was to put a small resistor in the wiring to replace the LED's.

All lights fitted must work, so to be legal you will have to remove the LED strip.

Without a mirror repeater you would need a wing repeater for the MOT.
That's for Vito / Viano at least and I don't see why an ML would be different.

I replaced the LED on the Viano for less than £28.

V = I × R

where:

V is the potential difference in volts, V

I is the current in amperes (amps), A

R is the resistance in ohms, Ω

The equation can be rearranged to find the resistance:

R = V ÷ I

I can remember doing that at Tech College 55 years ago.
