Recently my friend plugged in his fm transmitter into my cig lighter to listen to some music. After that I noticed the radio stations on the AM band has dropped quality, there was alot more static than before during normal driving.

Is there anything I can do improve the quality?

I listen to TalkSport hence my request. Thanks,

AM really suffers from electrical interference. Is the device plugged in to the cigarette lighter still? First call is to unplug that. Second question is there any new kind of electronic device in the car that wasn't there before. Turn it off/remove and see if there is an improvement.

All I can think of is that the fuse holder for the radio /cigar lighter might be arcing slightly,,, cleaning it may be the amswer
