I installed an aftermarket Carplay into my 2016 W222 S Class and it was pretty easy. The hardest bit was taking all the trim parts off and getting the centre console out...but I found a few online videos and the instructions that came with it were pretty good too

Merc software isn't so bad you need to fight apple randomware and a wire to do the same things
