I took apart the seat ecu and found why it wasn't working....

I think that is toast!

I think it looks rather nice, certainly different :D:D

Made some progress today, having taken apart the drivers seat I didn't think I would need to remove it, but I checked the carpet today and it was still damp. So I removed the seat as the motors are all working now and have lifted the carpet on the drivers side and put the dehumidifier back in. Hopefully a few days and it should be completely dry.

I noticed there are a whole load of wires running front to back on the drivers side, similar to the passenger side, so I will check all those connections too. Hopefully that might explain why none of the rear lights are working at the moment.

The rear lights are all driven by the rear SAM, see photos.
None of those wire are for the rear lights.

Thanks David, I may need a new rear SAM too then! I will have to remove it and see what it looks like along with the connectors.

The critical connections in the car sills both sides are the CAN wires and connectors.

The CAN starts off in the passenger side. The EIS switch is the master of the CAN and all data sent and received goes via this EIS switch. The car also has a wake up system, the wake up in wired in parallel to the CAN.

The green/white wires passenger side are the wake up.
The brown and brown red are CAN wires
The Brown/black is the wire that interlinks the CAN connectors known as X connectors.

CAN wires carry no current at all, only digital bits and their cleanliness is paramount.

This is the 230 CAN and wake up circuit.

Oh WOW! just WOW! lol :D

I am a little late to the part but that picture is brilliant! @)

Might just be a bit of an issue.

I had a similar problem with my W208 (getting the seat out). The motor failed and it was stuck in the most awkward position, being sensible like other suggested just didn't occur to me, so I ground down some tools and stood on my head in the foot well contorting my arms to get to the bolts lol. It wasn't much fun!

Glad it is on the mend though.
