How to replace an instrument cluster bulb??

The bulb which illuminates the total mileage, trip mileage and outside temperature on my 1994 S280 has failed so I can only read any of those if the sun shines on the dash.
I can see a small hole on the right side of the cluster which is presumeably for some release tool.
Is it a possible DIY job or is it one of those simple problems that costs a packet to sort out?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
John

Thanks again Malcolm. Do you ever rest, eat or sleep?
