Hello just a note to introduce myself, just found this forum.My name is Kenny I have a E280 Cdi sport 2008(with some good options fitted) in silver. I also have a C180 coupe Kompressor again a sport again silver(i am very predictable). I also have a 82 mk1 fiesta XR2(again in silver)with which i attend various shows. I am sure i will be asking some stupid questions

Does yours have the imitation leather? reason im asking is that i always stayed clear of ones advertised with it as i wasnt sure how they would last and also i suppose due to snobery. I remember many a night in the eighties coming home drunk in the back of a hyundia stellar taxi with its dummy leather seats holding on for dear life as i slid around the back seat like an ice skater!!!!!
I like the later facelifted models with there two tailpipes coming out the back, mine is a late 2006 model but these seem have their exhausts hidden.

Im afraid you are wrong.
As i said "ALL" later facelifted models 3.0 litre deisels appear to have the two tailpipes.
Check E-Classes for sale on autotrader from 2008 onwards for confirmation.

Ive checked and these are the first two 2008 models i came across on autotrader also with two tailpipes, one is an elegance and the other an avantgarde.

Thanks for the welcome guy's, Mines has the fake leather I find it is okay-my wifes has the real leather and to my untrained eye there is no difference, I had a c270 on a 51 plate(again silver-am i sad) it had grey leather again no difference. All the V6's have twin tailpipes(some are hidden) although i can only speak for the sport.

Just wondered how much of a difference there was, a lot of non-franchised dealers say it has full leather until you phone them up and ask them to find out for certain and to their shock? they confirm it is imitation which proves your point and some MB dealerships play dumb and hope you dont ask if it is real or not.
I know all the V6 engines have the two tailpipes but i was making the point that i like the later facelifted models (not just the sport) that have them on show.

How do you find the ride in the sport? is it much firmer and more BMW like?

I find the ride very good, after my last C class i had a Jaguar X type estate, the sports premium it would make a go karts ride feel soft

my favourite car colour is black but is a nightmare to keep clean, having said that i have only had a few black cars and like yourself most have been silver including my last two mercs.
I had a black mark2 xr2 for a few months in the eighties and my Accord type R was black and when they are clean look great but silver cars look good for a lot longer in between cleans.

Yes - Silver is easier to clean/keep clean, black looks better when clean tho

Minted XR2, where was that show? obviously somewhere in Scotland as it looks as if its going to p#sh and the mud was talking the look off your tyres a bit for showing.
by the way how do you get those large pictures on? im pretty crap with computers and only seem to know how to put on an attatchment.

Large pictures can be posted when the picture comes from a hosting site like Photobucket.

You upload your pictures that you want to post, then just enter the URL of that picture and paste it into the yellow box above with the 2 mountains on it

As above for the pictures, i will pretend that the Mercedes in the background was the reason I took the picture The show was the Culzean Autoclassica. Weather was actually very good, however access to the show area was terrible
