I can't find the hole- Help please

I am new to the forum :D and i have a clk320 208 and the flexible oil cooler pipe have split, i have managed to remove it and i am going to my local dealer to buy a new pipe.
The problem i have is where and how do i put some gear oil in and what type :confused::confused:.

All help most appreciated. :D Thanks

You will need a dipstick to get it to the correct level,,cleanliness is the order of the day for doing this repair

And it is filled through the dipstick tube which should have a plastic cap on the top.

thanks for your help, where will i find said dipstick tube also i need a dipstick? is there not one there or am i being silly? or is the dealer going to rob me for one of these aswell?

Dip stick is on the back left of engine as you look at it from the front. No dipstick comes with the car, You will need to get one. When checking fluid must be at full operating temp and in park with engine running.

You could make one from curtain wire and the details are in the DIY

They are expensive from the dealer if they will sell you one

Does the gearbox dipstick for a w202 do a w203? ie are they both 766.2 boxes ?

No that is a manual gearbox number and has no dip stick.

The 722.6 autobox all use the same dipstick regardless of what car its in.

The manual box numbers are 716 and 717 I think that delboy miss typed the auto number
You are quite correct Malcom, 722.6 is what i meant. Having said that would a 722.7 box be the same ?

Thanks for that ellsy, saves me buying the wrong dipstick, will have to wait till one comes up on evilbay again.
