I can't find the hole- Help please

I am new to the forum and i have a clk320 208 and the flexible oil cooler pipe have split, i have managed to remove it and i am going to my local dealer to buy a new pipe.
The problem i have is where and how do i put some gear oil in and what type .

You will need a dipstick to get it to the correct level,,cleanliness is the order of the day for doing this repair

thanks for your help, where will i find said dipstick tube also i need a dipstick? is there not one there or am i being silly? or is the dealer going to rob me for one of these aswell?

Dip stick is on the back left of engine as you look at it from the front. No dipstick comes with the car, You will need to get one. When checking fluid must be at full operating temp and in park with engine running.

They are expensive from the dealer if they will sell you one

No that is a manual gearbox number and has no dip stick.

The 722.6 autobox all use the same dipstick regardless of what car its in.

You are quite correct Malcom, 722.6 is what i meant. Having said that would a 722.7 box be the same ?

Sorry guys you are right about the manual and auto numbers.

The 722.7 is the 168 a class autobox, which has a slightly different dipstick
