I assume you are saying you don't have that cover panel.
What trim level is it? If a classic, I suspect at 1994, the pollen filter may have been an optional extra, perhaps standard on the elegance, sport, 220/280 etc and later fitted as standard throughout the range like a lot of things. 1994 was when the 202 was introduced and early models are often a bit basic spec so they can sell off all the specced up old models (190s). Once these have gone, they start to include more 'extras' as standard in the new model.

Do a VIN check and it will probably tell you if a filter was fitted when the car left the factory.

Does the car have air-con ?

I *think* pollen filters only came along (on all cars, not just Mercs) when a/c started to be widely fitted.

Your VIN shows a car that was made for a Merc employee.

It does not list many options, but the following are featured:

260 model type deletion on trunk lid

287 through load feature

412 elect roof

430 rear headrests

538 auto antenna and front speaker (without radio)

AIRCON is NOT shown for your car and therefore must be assumed to have been retro fitted when car went to Jordon. Probably why you do not have the filter installed.

Car was smoke silver and interior was black pattern cloth.

Trust that is useful.

If air con was standard, it would not be listed as an extra, polen filters can be bought for most cars as the holder is there.

Malcolm

just had a look at the trusted site, there are 2 configurations for the ventilation

http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.as...417717.418&CT=F&cat=44V&SID=83&SGR=045&SGN=01

(hope the link works)

in the second picture its shows the pollen filter and its housing (numbers 515 and 370 respectively) , in the first it doesnt, maybe you have the first configuration!
