Well, after about 5 years of having the use of (wife's car) and owned a Merc with cruise control, I only just realised that you can control the speed limiter by single mph amount if you pull it towards you. Until now, I had only ever nudged it up or down for 5 mph changes. I bumped the stalk towards me by accident and it went up by a single mph. I knew I should have read the manual before now!

Anyone else found something out that you just didn't know about before? Something I was wondering about is if my 99 W210 can be made to lock its doors automatically when I drive off. The 99 C180 we have does that, and I wondered if it was a new feature later in the year, or if I need to enable it somehow?

I always keep a handbook in the toilet, its the only place where I slowly get through the 600 pages. I am starting on the 300 pages in the Command book next.

I answered an advert once where this young lady wanted a home, the add was placed by her husband who wanted her out to move his new girl in.

she stayed a few weekends on test, so anything has a value.

To follow up on something else i didn't know ... i just discovered where my W210 E300TD's hookup point is in the engine bay for jump starting it ... under a plastic cover with a great big plus sign on it. How stupid can you get? All this time staring at a positive sign and i don't get the connection ...

... but meanwhile I can't figure out where my wife's point is in her C180. Insert women jokes here ...

Ah, my favourite "i've learnt something new about my mercedes" thread ..."

Just discovered on my ML 270 that if you twist the dial on the dashboard that i normally press to rotate through the mileage, trip meter and time to next service setting then it turns the brightness of the dash lights up and down. I really must take some of that advice and actually read the manual ...
