Hey!,
I'm new and I joined to get help.
I hav some questions on the aforementioned model...

1. Is it possible to open the gas/petrol tank lid without having to release the central locking??? HOW?

2. There's a lever on the side of both front seats, between the seat and door. What does that do?

3. What's the fuel economy of this vehicle in urban areas? Please state in l/km or km/l.

Thanx

I have 95 E300D so can only answer first two of your questions:

No its not possible to open the lid without unlocking the doors either with remote or key in passenger door (as far as I know -others may know more but I havent discovered it in 5 years)

The side handle on the seat adjust the seat height but you need to slide the seat forward for up or back for down. The front handle just moves the seat forward or back without changing height. So the procedure is to use the side one first to get the right height then use the front one for how far forward you want the seat.

Dont know about 220 fuel economy but my 300D gets 33mpg tank to tank.

Hi Akers, welcome to the forum.

Keith has answered most of the points raised but maybe I can add a little.

You can open the filler cap from insside the boot. Look on the right hand side of the boot near the fillercap area and you should see the mechanism that opens the flap. I believe that there is a plunger that can be manually moved to facilitate the opening of the fillercap should the central locking not work.

Fuel consumption... depends on your dricing but I always get about 340 miles from full to reserve (60 Litres) my maths aint great but I *think* thats just under 25 mpg. On a steady long distance cruise at 70, I get over 450 miles to 60 litres.

THANX

Thanx guys but i know of those two.
My question is abt the lever between the door and seat. It's like a slightly smaller version of the lever in front that moves the seat forward and back.

I still think the lever you are referring to adjusts the height (between door and seat)... mebbe you should post a picture of the lever in question so we can be sure?

PETROL LID

I have a '94 E220. The petrol tank lid is opened by pressing the right hand side and it pops open.
