does anyone know what this is, and what it does,
im talking about the small square thing that has 2 vaccum pipes that fit to it and a plug with 2 wires,
if this has uploaded which i hope it has, a big thanks to ,malcolm

It's a control valve (or somesuch?) for the compressor which feeds air to the exhaust on cold start to help the cat heat up quicker. The compressor is the alternator looking thing down the O/S front of the engine that makes the whooshing noise when you coldstart first thing then cuts off after a couple of minutes. (or should!)
