Hi Guys!
First of all, I have always admired CLK's, so the other week I saw a CLK 320 that had 72000 miles on for a steal so I went and picked it up, found the fuel economy to be just as poor as I imagined, then another one popped up that was a 220 CDI manual.....again at a steal so yeah...I got that one too!
I wonder if any of you chaps could help with 2 little issues.
Firstly my CLK 320 has an issue with the breaks, foot goes to floor before you get any bite at all, went for a break fluid change (which they managed to knacker 2 callipers) and that didn't fix it, its a later 2004 auto, could it be master cylinder? it has no leaks or fluid loss and has done probably 5000 miles in the last 3 years.
The second car, CLK 220 is awesome, done slightly more miles at 116,000 but on the 2 hour drive home got 54.6 MPG!, only issue! The boot doesn't unlock using the key fob or the button inside, all the doors unlock fine and the filler cap but the bot doesn't unlock, I have to insert the little key and unlock and then the boot catch is live and releases and when I put the boot down I have to turn the key back to release it and that then locks the boot.
I absolutely love these cars which is good because they nearly cost me a divorce.
Any advise or help would be really appreciated as I have the fear if I take them in to a garage they are just going to see £££ and I would hate for them to start costing money before I have had chance to enjoy them, that would probably tip it over the edge and cost me a divorce.
Many thanks and any help would be great.
