My 99 ML320 has a small problem - both the outside temperature LED and the time Clock LED have gone out - would this be bulbs that need replacing or a fuse or something else?

Yes, they are still working but they have gone dark. I will try and remove the clocks to access the bulbs and replace them.

Any advice on removing the dashboard clocks (I normally end up breaking something!)

yes - do it gently!
The cluster just pulls out I think so perhaps get yourself the keys from ebay or your dealer. Otherwise push it out from the back and be gentle.

Just to update you I got some bulbs, removed the dashboard instrument panel and replaced the dodgy ones and my clock and temperature displays are working again. :D

Thanks for your help Malcolm and Jberks.
