I need window regulators (W202)??

My front 2 windows hav stopped working & garage are telling me i need to change them. they'll cost me £250 + vat each one.

I told them I found a similar spec car beaking on ebay & might be able to get it but they say its rivitted on & will be no good i drilled off.

Is this true & is there an alternative??
