Hello,

I use a iTrip type gadget that you can have preset to a radio station works a treat and means the ipod can be in the glove box and playing through the stereo, no wires no mess and when I park the car at least if I forget its out of site :)

Also interested in this, but have so far been put off by people saying that the sound quality is inferior.

I bought a simple gadget off eBay, with the radio preset thing, for use in the Ford and on the plus side the music quality is as good as the unit it plays through, and the rest is down to your musical taste.

on the down side, when travelling nationwide, you invariably come across a local station on the same frequency, which can interfere and necessitates a change of setting.
(some operate at the low end of FM radio spectrum, Radio 2 area, or at the top end 106-108 MHz)

Hope this helps

Hello,

I like my tunes and have quite a snassy home cinema speaker set up, using the itrip in the car you would be hard pushed to tell the difference.

Certainly for say £30 or less you could see what you think and flog it on flea bay if not happy.

Hi All

There is an iPod cassette adapter for those less fortunate not to own a CD player.

I have several 'RF transmitters' that enable me to transmit the iPod audio signal through the car's stereo. A couple 'transmitters take their power from the iPod battery. Another plugs into to the cigarette lighter socket and powers the 'transmitter and iPod.

It's true that the signal is not true digital quality because the stereo in my car has a digitally-controlled analogue tuner.

I am fortunate living in Cornwall because the FM band is not chocker-block with transmitting stations. Consequently it's easy to find a quiet part of the band in which to tune the iPod transmitter. The sound quality is excellent. If I lived in London (say) my experience may be quite different. Interference from co-channel stations could degrade the quality of audio signal. In these cases direct connection to the audio power amp' is the preferred method of connecting the iPod.

REGARDS

Phil
