The other day I was working on my 1987 420 SEL finding the reason as to why my trunk light was not working. I traced the wire back to the trunk lid hinge where I noticed that the brown wire was broke. So I soldered the wire back together and wrapped it with electrical tape.
The light works fine now and I noticed that my sunroof motor has also came back to life. I was overjoyed until I went to go to the store and with the car running and the doors closed I went to adjust my seats and steering wheel and noticed that they do not function.
I have had this problem before so I opened the door and just like before the seat worked.
The last time this occurred upon replacing my front dome light the seats and steering wheel became operate able.
Could the cold have zapped the electronics on the dome light? Or are these not even related to each other and when I replaced it the first time and the seats and steering wheel functioning properly was just a fluke?
