I think I found an ECU

Whilst fixing some of the 'interesting' electrical problems. I pulled back a trim panel inside the bonnet just behind the battery - there was there what looks to me like an ECU, it was labelled up Bosch. I didnt note the code - Now this car is a 2.5 litre 80's mechanically injected diesel - so what is this ECU for?

I just had a look and it say Bosch 2132 - any more numbers were too small to read with a torch!.. The label is blue if it makes any difference!

124185. I looked specifically at the 250TD model on the site which matches with the VIN..Maybe I am just being stupid!

as I'm begni super daft - one extra super daft question - haines said some markets had a hea exchanger fitted in the fuel line - are uk market cars likel to have this?

They were on cars that went to Sweden and North Canada, not in the UK as far as I know

that's a shame - I was hoping I might have one - I fancy doing a proper veggie conversion on this one.. oh well a proper kit it is then... once I've finished the kit car, fixed the bike, sold the fiesta.....
