Passed a W124 E200 for sale on the street the other day. Heavy rain and time constraints meant I could only give it a brief look over and take a few phone pics. Looked very clean and rust free. Car has Mercedes alloys on it, but they don't look like they're from an E Class. Look too wide for that.

Can anyone identify the wheels ?
My worry is that they may rub the bodywork somehow.
Certainly look wider than the alloys on our E220 Coupe parked behind.

If I did go back and look at it and possibly end up buying it, there'd always be a possibility of swapping those wheels for regular W124 8 hole alloys I guess.

These look just like the 16" alloys that were standard on Avantgarde CLK's (209) after 1992/3 and were used for a couple of years.
If so, they'll be 7" wide on the front and 8" on the rear with 205/55 and 225/50's respectively.
Regarding fitting / clearances / offsets..... you'll have to wait for someone more knowledgable coming on line.

i would not put 8 hole w124's on it

ive just taken a set of 15" polished lightweight polished (now corroded) off one of my w124 coupes and put 17" amg's on it and the car looks so much better

either way ive found the w124's to be quiet forgibving when it comes to wheels a sive had 15" to 18" ones and in the end they all fitted

only thing is if the rears are 8" they might be too wide like you say as ive got 18" x 7.5" on the back of mine and they dont stick out even with 10mm spacers

i love the w124 extates though espically in that colour
