I saw one of these on Shap today, I haven't seen one for years, and I knew what it was from a good distance back.

(Sometimes I amaze myself)

Does anybody else know what it is?

A Peerless?

It's built on a modified Triumph TR chassis and powered by a TR engine unless it's one of the very few that had a Buick (later Rover) V8

It doesn't immediately look like one because of the steel wheels. TRs had 15" wheels and those look smaller

Agreed Peerless GT, 290 produced from 1957-1958. Using 1991cc 4cylinder OHV engine from Standard/Triumph Vanguard

Yes.

The Peerless had mainly Triumph rolling gear. It had steel wheels. It also had a dedion (sp?) rear axle. It was one of the early fiberglass cars, started in the late 50's I think.

One ran at LeMans and finished 16th, it was pretty much a standard raod car.

oops! , didnt see the second page of the thread.

Normally its customary to give your guess before the answer is revealed - but to get it wrong as well..... LOL

Seriously though, if you go into "usercp" at the top of the page and click on "options" you can alter the number of posts per page up to 40 which is much easier to follow.

I am sure it is a Warwick GT. I am looking at the 1961 Motor Road test (15/61). In standard form it was a 4 seater based on the TR3. Must have been very flimsy as it only weighed the same as the TR3.

If the reg number was a bit clearer we could have cheated and put in "myrac" and and got the model details from the DVLA. Not that I tried...
