I was extremely close to a collision today thanks to an impatient tool driving an M140.
Approaching a roundabout, I could see a car transporter a couple of cars ahead so switched to the outside lane intending to dispatch the transporter on a short uphill stretch of dual carriageway before the two lanes merged into one at the top of the hill.
Just as I came off the roundabout and about to accelerate, a white BMW undertook me on the inside lane and cut across my n/s wing into the outside lane missing me by inches. Had I put my foot down as intended, he would have been rammed. I was fuming, but held back and didn't chase him. 20 years ago things would have been different.

At the next roundabout, he was turning left and I pulled alongside and let him know what an idiot he was in a bit of industrial language. He got the message. Foolish maybe but it really got my back up how stupidly he behaved just showing how quick his car is. Funny really as I'd probably leave him standing given the right time and place.

Rant over, and I'm ready to listen to how I should have reacted;):D

It is easy to go low just to teach him a lesson, unfortunately this kind of “tools “ will never learn how to behave in traffic. …when they go low you go high ( the best attitude in our days imo)

Like you, these days I often choose to be the "bigger man" and just laugh at them - after all, that was probably me 25 years ago :)

I say you handled it well.

We are all guilty of having our moments of needing our man thrill. I done it yesterday but was on the autobahn and took my car upto 120 mph on a huge open empty stretch.

But when its clearly dangerous to other use road users its unacceptable as in your case.

BMW and idiot in the same context fits well.

Just endorses my view of the BMW drivers mindset. It's people like that who have given BM drivers such a poor reputation

A surprise attack is usually the only way those morons get by, I had one recently who shot past after using around 50m of hatched central reservation and exploited a small gap in front, there's only so much driving you can do staring at your mirrors!

Its the way BMW Drivers are generally, I am not painting them all with the brush .

I have no doubt there are situationally aware. they just seem to do thinks on the "edge" which is unsafe and can be frightening to the more sedate MB massive.

So you hadn’t noticed he was there?
Where did he say that?

I had an Insignia pull out on me this morning .... I saw him, he must've seen me, we were the only cars on the road at 0510 but I was in a little Smart & he didn't do what anyone would have expected him to do ie give way at the main road road. But no. He pulled out, I'd to brake or ram him up the backside.

An old B-Class.
Where did he say that?

.........
That is what I was trying to establish! Hence the “?”.

I would have expected that if he knew that the BMW coming up the left side he might have anticipated what happened.

You should have sent your dashcam footage to the Police.
