Idle Speed

Hi

I have a 380SEC - 1983 (UK Model).

The Idle Actuator (Idle Control Valve) is operating but not returning completely.

It always returns to around the 1000 RPM position.

Is there any way of adjusting the idle speed of the engine down to compensate for this?

I would be grateful for any help you can give.

You have a large slot screw (normall white) down at the front of the actuator unit, hard to describe it almost up against the block.

Hi

There isn't any adjustment screw.

Any other ideas?

You tell me then the exact injection system on your car. Vacuam leaks are the biggest cause if it changed on its own.

Chop,

Think you're stuck with it, the nechanical adjustment can only increase it further (even if you could find it).

Worth giving the idle control unit a good bath in Comma Carb cleaner though, they do get gummed up over the years.
