Here here.
Others will disagree and tell you that driving with a sensitive foot etc it's OK but it's not.
RWD bad
FWD better
4WD the best

I've got my tin hat on.

Nowt yet...
NO NEED TO SHOUT!
That aside you can drive sucessfully in the snow with a CLK, just be very gentle on the throttle and brakes.
Don't floor it.
Weight in the boot Sandbags will help too, winter tryes really are justifiable now.
Get some.

I beg to differ, I think the traction control does its job excellently as long as you dont thrash it, use gentle throttle and I personally never had any issues.

try moving the car on a up hill grad. thats both icy and thick with snow and all it will want to do is move left and right regardless whether you have traction on or off.....

Well come and drive one around here and you will change your mind.
That's if you could get here in the first place.

I do have to agree with deanrc that driving the CLK in snow is not easy but I had to drive up a windy road in the snow and it was fun!!:D:D

FWD bad - weight transfers AWAY from the driving wheels under acceleration = less grip
RWD better - weight transfers TO the driving wheels under acceleration = more grip
4WD best

I was up in the wilds of Aberdeenshire during the snow and my W126 just kept going up hills covered in hard packed snow where FWD cars were floundering or abandoned - and I was towing a trailer !

Gentle acceleration before reaching and on the gradient stops this, turn the DSC off to move switch it back on once moving.

And get stuck behind all the other idiots on the wrong tyres and without a clue as to their actual capabilities. Yeah right!
It's the drivers that get stuck, not the car!
