If you need to change the Crankshaft Position Sensor on a W212, not an easy job unless you have a lift.

I have just changed the Crankshaft Position Sensor on a W221. Mine is actually a S221, 2011 E200 Estate CGI. Well you cannot even see it from the top never mind unbolt it to remove it. There is no gap between the engine and the bulkhead on this car. Anyway changed it from below with great difficulty, as I do not have a full lift, so not too far off the ground.

So you need to get it from underneath and then unless you have a full lift which I don't you cannot see it. I have taken photos see below.

I have just seen the typo. It is a W212.
