Help needed, I can do the repairs ect avoiding the high garage fees, problem is how do I fix this problem? 2009 C220 CDI coupe sport, only have 1 key which unlocks and locks the car, when in the ignition nothing, no beep no dash key won't even turn. However if I press and hold lock and press unlock a few times it comes to life and starts with everything working as it should? By doing this I've managed to put a machine on to get the code U0155 lost communication with instrument panel cluster (IPC) control module. Is this just a change of clocks or can mine be fixed, do they need programming or am I completely off the mark ? Please any help or advice is welcome

Is this lock and unlock on the remote or the car, if the remote then could be remote sided, I would be getting a new remote as start last thing you want is the lose the functionality of the single remote atleast.

Watching a few YT of the issue based on the code and its alot of soldering if the board is the issue, I would consider whipping the dash out and replugging it and cleaning the contacts if your are confident enough

No as they will need coding to work correctly.
Check your battery isn't weak. Engine off, at least one hour since last start measure the battery voltage. If it's below 12.4 the battery is weak. Ideally should be 12.6v
