Ignition fault E220 auto 1996

Can anyone help please, I have an E220 Facelift model (1996) auto. My vehicle is not starting. All the alarm (Sigma Alarm) functions appear to go through the correct sequences but the warning lights on the dash do not illuminate. The engine does however turn over normally but refuses to fire up.I have been told that this may be due to a fault on the ignition switch barrel or associated wiring, has anyone seen this type of fault. The car is totally immobile now although this happened for the first time on Friday night as I was driving home. I managed to resatrt the car on Saturday morning and it ran fine for two days until yesterday when the same problem occured but this time it will not reset at all. Does anyone have any thoughts please.

Hi

If you are sure that the alarm is ok. I would try a overload protection relay, sited behind the battery a silver relay with a red top with a fuse in it.

But if that does not cure it. Get it into your local specialist.
