I say you fellows,
My E240 estate broke down and had to be towed to the the Exeter dealer the other day. Two weeks over the 3-year warranty. "I don't believe it!" I'd just had it serviced as well, here's the catch, the Paignton dealership had just closed down and I couldn't be arsed to go all the way to Exeter from Brixham so I got it done by a Brixham firm who do Volvos, and who previously kept my old 740 going to 180,000 miles. They got the genuine bits, including plugs, from Mercedes in Exeter. I've seen the invoice.
What was wrong was an ignition lead, but I got stung for 12 plugs as well and "diagnosis" total bill £369.75. And they charged more per plug than the Brixham firm.
Do you think the Exeter dealership was trying to make a point?
