Ignition switch for C200

Hi all
I have had a check on my 1999 C200 and I have been told I need a new ignition switch it is the keyless type.
Has anybody on the forum had to have this done and I have heard it is very expensive as it is a main stealer job.

Must comment useless forum nobody with much knowledge lots of questions going unanswered I can get more information from google.
